Home practice

Practise of reading, times tables and spelling can be an integral part of student learning. Practise should be structured and purposeful; to fit a time frame, so children can relax, play and participate in other family commitments.

The aim of home practice is:

  • To read widely and on a regular basis
  • To practise a skill such as times tables, spelling rules, grammatical conventions

Practise should be meaningful and serve a need, not creating a stressful situation for the student or family.
